Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
William Anderson and co-worker were designated to conduct a wildlife survey. They left the Missi Falls area June 26th, 1980. They were to canoe from South Indian Lake to Churchill. On the second day the men attempted to shoot some rapids and their canoe hit a rock and overturned throwing both men into the river. Anderson's co-worker managed to reach a pile of rocks in the middle of the river. Anderson was not seen again. Air and land searches failed to locate Anderson and he is presumed dead as a result of drowning. No foul play is suspected in this matter.
