  • Details of Disappearance
Jon Barrett was report missing to law enforcement on November 9, 2008, when his family members were unable to reach him after many tries. Barrett was known to frequent thrift stores.

The last possible sighting of Barrett was at the Westwood discount around noon on November 5, 2008.

Barrett's dogs which he took everywhere with him were left home with the lights on and doors unlocked. Jon lived at 12th Avenue and Bonneville Street. He lived alone with his pets. It is unclear if Jon took his medication with him.

Possibly driving a brown or bronze van with Idaho license plates. His van showed up at his Pocatello home the day after he was reported missing. Officers donít know who returned the vehicle.

It was completely out of character for Jon to just vanish. Jon was reported missing by his sister.

Six months after Jonís disappearance, Randall Toone was arrested in Las Vegas on credit card fraud charges out of Idaho. A longtime friend of Jonís, Toone had been using his debit card and was apparently the last person to see Jon before he went missing. Toone used Jonís Bank of America debit card at Ross Dress for Less on November 10, 2008, and charged less than $20. Tooneís attorney said he had permission to use the card.
