  • Details of Disappearance
The 43-year-old mother who cleaned houses for a living was last seen leaving work in the Sugar Land area on June 10, 1994.

Her vehicle was located in Houston, Texas on June 30, 1994. Foul play is suspected.

In 2005, her daughter, Brenda Vanessa Trejos, and her husband, Frank Jose Trejos, was sentenced to 80 years in prison for her murder. Detectives had reopened the case and were interviewing Frank Trejos when he suddenly confessed. Brenda Trejos also confessed, although she pleaded not guilty in her trial. Prosecutors said the couple killed Barrientos, of Sugar Land, because she was going to throw them out of her house for not helping with household chores. The pair strangled her and dumped the body in a remote field near Fulshear. They led police to the spot after confessing, but could not find the body.
