The 19 year-old former college student had taken a break from school and was on a cross-country trip to Northern California with with a group of friends she met through the Occupy Wall Street movement when she disappeared. Around April 23, Stevie told her mother their car broke down in North Carolina and they would be taking a bus to Arkansas.
Steve called her mother Vivian and told her she wanted to come back to N.Y. Vivian bought her a ticket and waited for her to land back in New York City.
She spoke with her last at 7:52 pm on 4/27/12 while she was at a layover bus stop in PA.
Surveillance cameras at NY Port Authority showed her coming up the escalator from the greyhound bus at 8:51am and walking downtown on 8th
avenue from 42nd st on 4/28/2012. Where she went after that is unknown.
