Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Stephen Begg was last seen February 6, 2011 at his residence in the 16800 of Fraser Highway in Surrey, BC. He was reported missing by his roommate on February 16, 2011. Stephen, who struggled to find work as a software and website developer, relied on social assistance in the absence of steady work to support himself. Stephen did not own a car and mainly traveled by transit. Stephen was a loner who had few friends and was not in a relationship when he went missing. Prior to his disappearance, Stephen frequented the Liquor Depot on 160 Street in Surrey.
Stephen left behind all of his belongings and identification and police and family are very concerned for Stephen's well-being, as his disappearance is very out of character. Stephen had never previously been reported missing and he was in frequent contact with his parents in the United States and a grandmother in Scotland.
There is some evidence to indicate that Stephen had contemplated suicide or disappearing to undertake a new identity in the past, but evidence has not emerged to support either endeavor.
