  • Details of Disappearance
Boyett resided with his girlfriend, Charlene Knapp, in Kinder, Louisiana. He picked Knapp up from her place of employment after she completed her shift on December 3, 2001. Authorities believe that the couple returned to their residence shortly afterwards. Neither Boyett nor Knapp has been heard from again. Their vehicle and most personal belongings were left behind at their home and a chicken was also left thawing in the kitchen sink. However, a television, VCR, table, computer and telescope were reported missing.

Knapp's only credit card was used to buy fuel in Jeanerette, Louisiana four days after the couple was reported missing.
The fuel was purchased at the pump, so no one saw who used the card. Tire tracks were found leading from the back of the couple's home.
Investigators said that there is little evidence available in the couple's disappearances, but foul play is suspected.

Due to information received by Louisiana State Police, a search with a cadaver dog near a cemetery in rural Allen Parish was carried out, looking for Boyett and Charlene's bodies. Nothing turned up.
