  • Details of Disappearance
    Steven Brito vanished August 11 during an apparent trip to the White Tank Mountains. He was reported missing about 6 p.m. August 11 by his ex-wife and adult daughter.

    Brito's gold 2005 GMC Sierra was found the day he was reported missing in a desert area west of the White Tank Mountains, about 2 miles east of mile marker 110 on Sun Valley Parkway. He was described as "outdoorsy" and an avid hunter. Relatives and a search unit for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office were unable to find him during a three-day search of the area. Police do not suspect foul play.
