  • Details of Disappearance
Bross was last seen at approximately 10:30 AM on April 2, 2001 in Daly City, California.

A neighbor last saw Bross at about 10:30 a.m. on April 2, headed for the Westlake Village apartment where she has lived for the past 30 years. Bross never returned home.

Bross had no mental or physical infirmities beyond a slight limp. Her disappearance was discovered April 3 by her brother, Joseph Galvin, with whom she spoke at least twice a day. When Galvin couldn't reach his sister, he called police, who let him in to Bross' empty apartment.

Bross is an active person, who would take the bus shopping or see a movie with relatives. From time to time, she would travel with a women's club to Reno in an organized excursion. But Bross always told family and friends where she was going, and on long trips made sure to provide for the care of her cat. Police have said Bross' disappearance is suspicious, but say they have no evidence of foul play.
