Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Leona Mae Brule from Fort Providence, NT, was reported missing by her mother in 1989. The 18-year-old had been working as a live-in nanny and travelling back and forth to Edmontonto visit her boyfriend. Brule eventually stopped coming home to see her mom, and after about a year, her mother filed a police report.
Leona was considered transient at the time of her disappearance, and drug and alcohol use/abuse was suspected. RCMP believe she was living on the streets in Edmonton in the 1990s, but she has never been found. There was also a possible link to Florida.
Leona's disappearance was deemed suspicious from the onset due to high risk transient lifestyle. Her health and social insurance number hasnít been used.
