  • Details of Disappearance
Christine Starrine Byrd possibly disappeared from her home at 2405 Pineburr in Tyler in May of 1992. At the time of the disappearance, food was left cooking on the stove in her house. There were no signs of forced entry. The police have investigated several leads including searching for Christine at Bellwood Lake.

She is believed to have been murdered by a condemned killer already convicted of 2 murders. Relatives and friends of Christine Byrd suspected her disappearance was linked to Patrick Horn after rumors surfaced that the single mother saw Horn months earlier with kidnapped 8-year-old Chad Choice in her west Tyler neighborhood.

Authorities learned Horn kidnapped and killed Chad over a drug debt owed to the boy's uncle. The boy's remains were located in Horn's family's backyard on Sunnyside Drive, within walking distance of Ms. Byrd's home on Pine Burr Road. Horn is and always has been the prime suspect in Ms. Byrd's disappearance.
