  • Details of Disappearance
Cajski, a biology student at the University of Hawaii-Hilo, was reported missing Thursday afternoon by school friends, although he was last seen at his dorm by his roommate at 6 a.m. on Wednesday. An avid fisherman and skin diver, Cajski didn't show up for his 9 a.m. summer class that day. A woman later told Cajski's friends that she thought she had seen him drive out of the dormitory parking lot between 10 a.m. and noon. The car, which he was taking care of for a friend, and his snorkel, fins and mask were the only things missing. His friends were worried when he didn't return home that night, and notified the police the next day.
On Saturday, the vehicle he is believed to have been driving when he disappeared was located near Anaehoomalu Bay in a Waikola hotel parking lot. After several days of extensive searching off the West Hawaii coast, the search was called off by the Coast Guard and Hawaii County officials.
