  • Details of Disappearance
Kayann Canfield was visiting a friend on 10/21/2013 in the Wapato area. She called her step dad and said she was on her way and has not been seen or heard from since.

She has a history of drug use, but her family says she’s never been out of touch with them for this long. Canfield is known to regularly contact family members every day and is very dependent on the family. She is the mother of a young child and would call her son everyday. Canfield most recently resided in the Toppenish/Wapato area.

Her clothes were discovered in a ditch near a road in Toppenish about two weeks later. Detectives say they’d been washed and dumped there.

She was reported as being found, and police closed the case for a month, but it turned out to be a case of false identity.

Investigators say foul play could be involved.
