    On the 14th of May, 2008 James Carlson was last seen between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM at a local business in Watrous, SK. Carlson worked as a as a heavy-duty mechanic. Carlson travelled the region, working for himself in the trade he'd been doing since the age of 16. Carlson was a punctual person devoted to his work. Carlson went through a divorce a few years ago and his wife moved with the couple's three kids to Alberta.

    Sometime around the May long weekend a farmer found his truck unlocked and abandoned south of Allan, about 50 kilometres northwest of Watrous.

    Police found his car, a white 1985 Monte Carlo with licence number 709GAR, 18 kilometres southeast of Rosthern near the Saskatchewan River in 2010. The vehicle, which had last been seen in 2008 in Watrous, was located in some bushes in the rural area. Police and civilian search teams conducted a search of the area, but didn't find anything.
