Details of Disappearance
Claudia Clinger, 29, disappeared from her Springfield Township home on June 22, 1980, the morning after she and her husband, Patrick, had an argument. Mr. Clinger, her husband of 11 years, told authorities he heard the family car drive off between 5 and 8 a.m. and later that morning found the vehicle in the driveway. Mrs. Clinger, however, was never seen again by her family, which included three young daughters. Mr. Clinger reported her missing June 25. “She had a close, intimate relationship with her daughters and would not abandon them. Mrs. Clinger was a full-time homemaker. At her mother's request, the Lucas County Probate Court declared her dead Dec. 11, 1986. She is presumed dead.
