Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
On September 3, 1986, Cynthia Coleman left her residence on the Barona Indian Reservation to go to a local supermarket, carrying a box of kittens to give away. Her mother reported her missing on September 8, 1986, after she did not return home.
Cynthia Coleman did end up making it to the corner store the day she went missing. A friend of her brother’s told authorities that he gave her a ride part of the way back to her home. The friend was questioned extensively and given a lie-detector test, but no arrests were ever made. She was never seen or heard from again. Cynthia Coleman left behind her purse, her cigarettes and her baby daughter. Both sheriff’s investigators and the family suspect foul play.
