Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Jamaree was last seen with his mother, Cheryl Lewrisey Coleman, who was later found deceased. Jamaree and his mother were last seen at a gas station and they apparently got into a truck driven by a drifter, Carl Harris. Cherylís body was discovered at approximately six hours after she was last seen, in Academy Creek, several blocks from her brotherís home. There was no sign of Jamaree at the scene, but his baby carrier and blanket were left behind. Carl Harris stated he killed Cheryl in a wooded area and then left Jamaree at the edge of Academy Creek after he put Cherylís body in the water. Carl Harris was charged with both Cheryl and Jamareeís homicides and pleaded guilty to the crimes. He was sentenced to two terms of life in prison without parole, plus twenty years for assault.
