  • Details of Disappearance
Joyce was last seen in Lexington, Kentucky at 7.15pm on October 27, 2002. She was going to visit her estranged husband, Bill Crider Jr. at the Holiday Inn on Athens-Boonesboro Road where he lived.
Joyce never returned and she left behind all of her belongings, including her knee brace and her dogs.

Her car was found, covered with snow, in a parking lot on Winchester Road in December 20002, six weeks after she vanished. There were indications that someone other than Joyce drove the vehicle to that location.

She was supposed to give a deposition in her divorce two days after she disappeared, where she was expected to implicate her husband in insurance fraud.

Bill Crider was indicted in June 2011 on drug charges and using a gun to commit a crime. Crider died in a car accident in 2013 and remained the prime suspect Joyce's in disappearance up until his death.
