  • Details of Disappearance
Eva was last seen on June 29, 1977, at her home in Rock Hill South Carolina. On the date of her disappearance, Eva was last seen mowing the family lawn.

Miss Debruhl went missing after her grandmother noticed an unfamiliar car in the driveway. She then assumed the man standing at the door in long dark pants and a light green shirt was there to talk to her son, Willard, about fixing a car. But Willard was already at work, and his wife, Opal, was sleeping after having worked the third shift. Eva was the only one awake. When Opal got up that day, the television was on and Eva was gone. The Debruhl's hired investigators and psychics to help find their daughter, selling their house to pay the expenses, but were never able to locate Eva or any evidence in her case.

Based on information received from self-professed serial killer Henry Lucas, the Lansford Canal State Park in Chester County was searched by more than 100 people in August 1984. The search yielded no evidence in Eva's case. Foul play is suspected.
