Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Heather Elvis was last seen about 2:00 AM on 12/18/2013, after going on a date. On the night Miss Elvis disappeared, she had been on a date with a man who dropped her off at the apartment at about 2am. That man has been ruled out of the investigation.
Heather's vehicle was located at the Peachtree Boat Landing in Socastee subsequently. The vehicle was abandoned in working order and locked with the keys missing. Elvis’ keys, cellphone and purse were not found in the locked car and she remains missing. Police believe Heather drove herself to the boat landing where her car was found, although the reason she would go there is not known.
Tammy Moorer and her husband Sidney are both charged with murder, even though Elvis' body has not been found. They were each charged in February 2014 with murder and kidnapping in connection with Heather Elvis’ disappearance.
Heather was said to have been in a relationship with Moorer, who she had met while working in a restaurant. Her roommate had told police the affair had ended about a month before Miss Elvis disappeared, and that on the night she went missing, the pair were back in contact. Cell phone records show Sidney Moorer was in contact with Heather on the day she disappeared.
Heather Elvis was a cosmetology student at the time. She recently been hired as a makeup artist at Artistik Design. She is a 2011 graduate of St. James High School.
