  • Details of Disappearance
    Evitts, a legal secretary on the Plaza, disappeared on February 28, 1977 during her lunch hour, from the Plaza Center Building parking garage. Her vehicle was found in the parking garage. Her purse was found 10 days later under a bridge in southeast KC, near Unity Village. She lived with her husband in Overland Park, Kansas but worked and disappeared from the Plaza area in Kansas City, MO.

    Evitts, a former KSU queen nominee, was married in Overland Park and had no known romantic or financial entanglement. Evitts' husband moved to have her declared legally dead seven years later.
