  • Details of Disappearance
Fields was last seen in Perquimans County, North Carolina on July 6, 2002. Fields's pickup truck was found on September
28, 2002, abandoned in a wooded area in Gates County, North Carolina, not far from his home. Many of Kevin's belongings were in the truck, including his wallet and cell phone. It is believed that he was
living in his truck in an area of Pasqoutank County known as The Gold Mine just before his disappearance. Kevin suffered from schizophrenia and it's likely that he wasn't taking his medications when he vanished. He had vanished on other occasions for up to two months. Sheriff's departments in Gates and Perquimans counties conducted an initial search in the area, but no evidence of Kevin's whereabouts was discovered. Later searches with dogs, including two animals trained to find cadavers, also turned up no leads.
