  • Details of Disappearance
Garcia was last seen leaving work in Deerfield Beach, Florida on July 2, 2009. She has never been heard from again.

On July 5, after she didn't show up for work at a north Broward Metro PCS store, her coworkers went to her residence in the 700 block of Mermaid Drive to find out why. Garcia's boyfriend, Jason Allen, answered the door and told them she wasn't home. Her coworkers reported her missing on July 7.

Garcia left all her belongings behind in her apartment, and Allen used her credit cards after her disappearance. He told police that Garcia had moved out on July 3. Garcia had lived with Allen, their young child, and Allen's mother before. Her wallet, phone, purse and keys remained at her apartment. She drew no money from her bank account, even though she had just deposited $20,000 from an insurance settlement days earlier.

Allen was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in May 2010. There was evidence in the apartment of a violent attack, including a significant amount of blood and evidence of an effort to clean up still more blood. At the time of Allen's arrest investigators said his relationship with Garcia had grown rocky before her disappearance. Garcia had left Allen and moved into her own apartment with their 2-year-old son just before she vanished.

Jason Allen was convicted in 2013 of second-degree murder in the disappearance and presumed death of Garcia, the mother of his son.
