Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
On Thursday, July 2, at 05:26 A.M., Matthew Graham, reported his six month old daughter, Ember Graham, as missing from her crib on Noosha Lane in Anderson, California. Ember was in the care of her father, Matthew Graham, when he reported her missing from her playpen at his Happy Valley home in the early hours of July 2. Video from the Happy Stop Market in Happy Valley the night of her disappearance showed him arriving in his truck with the baby. He was recorded heading in the opposite direction of his home, passing back through about an hour later.
He became a person of interest after the Shasta County Sheriff's Office said he gave inconsistent statements. Several days later, he was killed in a shootout with law enforcement in Dunsmuir, after police used a tracking device on a car he allegedly stole, to locate him. Police had been tracking Graham since after he allegedly skipped a meeting with a probation officer, stole a semiautomatic gun from his mother and fled after hearing that the search for his daughter, Ember, had turned up a possible lead.
After his daughter vanished, Graham had been booked into jail on an unrelated felony probation violation after he allegedly failed to disclose medication he took, in violation of the terms of his probation on a DUI and forgery conviction. He was released and ordered to check in with his probation officer daily before he fled. He hadn't been charged with any crime in relation to his daughter's disappearance.
Ember's disappearance is being investigated as a suspicious circumstance.
