Details of Disappearance
An unknown suspect entered the Handa residence, took the child, and left a ransom note. A ransom note on the bed that family members discovered the next day detailed a rendezvous point where money would be exchanged for the boy's safe return. But to the despair of family and law enforcement agents, the alleged kidnappers never showed up.
In 2016 Prosecutors charged Michael Anthony Blas Fejarang with first-degree murder with special circumstances and kidnapping for ransom in connection with the disappearance of 3-year-old Clark Toshiro Handa. Fejarang was a 23-year-old Fairfield resident and a friend of the Handa family when the young boy disappeared. Fejarang is currently serving a 26-year prison sentence related to separate child molestation cases from Solano County in 1981, 2001 and 2002. Fejarang was a registered sex offender after a 1982 sexual assault conviction.
Detectives learned that the boy was killed by his abductors shortly after the kidnapping.
