  • Details of Disappearance
    On 12-02-01, Mrs. Harris was out of town with her daughter (soccer tournament). Mrs. Harris called and spoke with her husband at home around 2000 hours that evening. Mr. Harris was starting a new job at Walmart that night at 2200 hours. Mr. Harris never showed up at work. Mr. Harris' truck (grey, 1993, Ford, Ranger, Illinois registration 4JMHRS was found abandoned on 12-03-01 in a parking lot located at 3299 Mississippi Ave, Cahokia. Mr. Harris' wallet and keys were left inside the truck. Mr. Harris used to work for Salem Tire in Cahokia, which is a short distance (literally down the street) from where his truck was located. A witness claimed to have seen a black male with about an inch high afro, wearing dark framed military style glasses sitting in Mr. Harris' truck near a pay phone in the same lot the vehicle was located around 2200 hours. According to family, friends and co-workers Mr. Harris has never been involved in any illegal activity and has no known enemies.

    The investigation indicated there was some illegal activity involved in the tire business (lost/stolen inventory) around the same time frame as his disappearance.
