  • Details of Disappearance
Michele was last seen at approximately 9:30 pm leaving her work as a waitress in the vicinity of the 400 block of Broad Street in Waverly, NY.

She went to visit a friend in Barton, NY and left at approximately 11:30 pm to go back to her residence in Spencer, NY.

Her vehicle, described as a gold 2000 Ford Windstar Van with NY dealer plates, was located the following morning near her residence in the vicinity of the 300 block of Hagadorn Hill Road in Spencer, NY. The keys were in the ignition.

Her husband, Calvin Harris, called the baby sitter about 7 a.m. the next morning, saying his wife hadn't come home and he needed help getting the kids ready for the day. The couple lived in Spencer, a small community in New York's Southern Tier, which stretches along Pennsylvania's northern border.

In October 2005, her husband, Calvin, was convicted of killing the mother of four children during a fractious divorce. Calvin Harris was co-owner of several upstate car dealerships. In the pending divorce, his net worth was estimated at about $4 million. His wife could have gotten up to half of the wealth accumulated during the marriage, and prosecutors saw that as a motive. Michele's body has not been recovered.
