Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Sabrina Lee Hatheway has been missing since December 20 when she left her aunt's house at night saying she was going for a ride with a friend and would be right back. Sabrina left with only the clothes on her back and nothing else. It was later discovered that friend was her ex-boyfriend, Kevin Crozier. The couple broke up December 13 and about a week later they were out with friends together.
Crozier was charged with assault and battery on another woman on December 4, 2014, a little over two weeks before Hatheway disappeared. In 2006, Crozier, along with one other man, was arrested for assault and battery on an elderly man. Crozier plead guilty to Armed Assault with Intent to Rob a Person over the age of 60, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon on a person over the age of 60. Crozier and his accomplice were sentenced to 3 to 5 years in state penitentiary following this case.
Everything she owns is at her Aunt's house and Sabrina has not called, texted, or been on Facebook since that date. Crozier claims that he was with Hatheway on December 20 at a party and then she stayed at his house. On December 21, he said he woke up there and Hatheway was missing. Crozier's house on Dixfield Street burned down January 1, 2015 and it was deemed arson. Relatives are concerned the arson case may be tied to Ms. Hatheway’s disappearance. When investigators went into the house after the fire they reportedly found a circular burn pattern around the bed that Kevin and Sabrina allegedly shared. They also reportedly seized a stained mattress and paperwork with Sabrina's name on it.
Her mother filed a missing persons report on January 4, 2015. Sabrina grew up in Worcester and has no friends outside the state she would visit, according to her mother. She receives supplemental security income, but the debit card with more than $700 of the funds on it remains at Sabrina Lee Hatheway's last apartment. Hatheway is the mother of two children.
In March 2015 Kevin Crozier was indicted on charges of arson of a dwelling and conspiracy. He was arrested in Florida on a charge of damaging property under $200 and an out of state fugitive from justice warrant.
Scott T. Phelan, 29, of Millbury, and Lionel Bermudez, 30, have both been charged with setting fire to a dwelling and conspiring with Mr. Crozier to set the blaze. Police allege Kevin burned down the home with two accomplices, promising a cut of the insurance money. Prosecutors had said there was no insurance on the house.
