Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Adam was last seen July 7, 1989 in Beverly Hills, CA. Adam Hecht was the son of a movie producer and after graduating from Beverly Hills High, he got a job as a tennis instructor. On January 10, 1989, Adam and his brother Harold went to breakfast at a local restaurant, and in the front of it they encountered a street person. After they left the restaurant, Harold saw Adam talking to the man, whose name was Tony. Adam later invited Tony to move in with him. Adam began visiting Skid Row and hanging out with the street people.
On June 10, 1989, Harold arrived at Adam's apartment, after he had not heard from him in several days. Tony was at the apartment, but he said that Adam was not there and he didn't know where he was. The Hechts then reported Adam missing and had Tony evicted in July. Authorities investigated the possibility that Tony was responsible for Adam's disappearance, but no evidence was found to support that theory.
One month after Adam vanished, his car was found abandoned on a Beverly Hill side street. On the windshield were several parking tickets, and inside his keys were still in the ignition, and his wallet and jacket were found in the car as well. His family does not believe that Adam decided to disappear.
