Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Jessica went missing while working her shift at the Exxon Mobile station in Norton Shores, MI. Jessica was abducted from her work (gas station clerk) on April 26, 2013 between 10:55 pm and 11:07 pm. She last spoke to her fiance between 10:00 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. on that Friday night. Her last sale was at 10:55 p.m. By 11:15 p.m., she was gone.
A witness told police he saw the then 25-year-old mother being forced into a silver Chrysler minivan. Investigators found no signs of a struggle, but did find Jessica's cellphone, keys and purse inside the store. Police believe Heeringa was lured outside. They later found traces of her blood outside the gas station. There was no money missing from the cash drawer.
Security cameras at the North Shore Exxon station weren’t working that night, so police had to depend on surveillance footage captured at a nearby bar. It shows a silver Chrysler Town and Country minivan driving away around the time that Heeringa went missing. The driver was described as a 6-foot-tall white man with light brown or sandy blond hair and a medium to heavy build.
