  • Details of Disappearance
Tiahease was last seen at a supermarket in Staten Island, New York. She left her home at the Conca D'Oro Motel in Mariners Harbor to buy chicken wings for a neighbor. She never returned.

Convicted kidnapper and sex offender Andre Rand is a suspect in her disappearance. He was questioned three days after Tiahease's disappearance, but police were unable to bring charges due to a lack of witnesses and evidence. At the time of Tiahease's disappearance, Rand was known to have a campsite in Baron Hirsch Cemetery, Graniteville, which is less than half a mile from the Conca D'Oro. Tiahease's mother also told investigators a man fitting Rand's description often hung out in a van in a parking lot near the motel.

Rand was a drifter who worked odd jobs and lived in boarding houses and makeshift campsites across the Island. He was convicted of kidnapping 12-year-old Jennifer Schweiger in 1987. He was again convicted of the same charge in 2004 for kidnapping then-7-year-old Holly Ann Hughes in 1981.
