Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Jessie was last believed to be at the home of her babysitter in Pahokee, Fl prior to noon on June 23, 2013, as her vehicle was seen parked there. Her vehicle was found abandoned at the Palm Beach Golf Center in in Riviera Beach, two miles from where she worked. Jessie was the manager at the Family Dollar store in Pahokee.
Jessie was in the process of moving from the area and had already sent her kids to stay with someone else. Jessie was in the process of gaining a Domestic Violence Injunction against a former boyfriend, Jammy Washington. In the petition for a restraining order, Jessie said she has been the victim of domestic violence. Washington, a 29-year-old felon, has an extensive criminal history dotted with arrests ranging from cocaine possession to sexual assault.
In the injunction documents, Jessie asked the judge to keep Washington away from three locations: her home on Palm Boulevard in Pahokee, her workplace at the Family Dollar, and the home of her childrenís babysitter, Crystal Anderson, at 758 Eisenhower Drive in Pahokee.
When deputies went to Andersonís home on June 24 to conduct a welfare check they found the 57-year-old shot to death.
Detectives believe Jammy Washington killed Deborah Jessie and Crystal Anderson the Sunday she was last seen. Jessie and Anderson planned to go to church that day and Washington either saw Jessieís vehicle outside Andersonís home or was told that she was there. Detectives connected Washington to the two murders by DNA evidence and witness statements. Washington was indicted for the two womenís murders in December 2013.
Jessieís body has still not been located and detectives believe it was dumped somewhere in the Belle Glade sugar cane fields.
