  • Details of Disappearance
At about 11:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2006, Sangeeta Khanna called her 15-year-old son and told him that she was going to stop at the bank and then would be home shortly. In the morning her son noticed that she wasnít at home and he decided to go to school. The boy shared the story with a friendís mother who then notified police late Tuesday afternoon.

Officers located her vehicle in the RBC parking lot on 23 Avenue and 66 Street. There is no obvious indication of suspicious activity involving the vehicle, which has been seized for further examination.

Police revealed that there was no activity recorded on her bank account and there was no damage to the SUV. They further believed she didn't make it inside the bank.

2008 update. Police confirmed that missing Khanna likely was the victim of a homicide.
Police also revealed that a "person of interest" they had identified in the case is now a suspect
Investigators believe that person, not a family member nor her ex-husband, a man known to Khanna, was driving as far east as Meadow Lake, Sask., following Khanna's disappearance on April 17, 2006. They also think he took Highway 28, which passes through Bonnyville, to Edmonton the next day, and as a result suspect Khanna's body could be in the area.
Of interested is a white Dodge mini van with a black covering on the front.
