Details of Disappearance
Chico resident Neal King was reported missing by his girlfriend March 29, three days after he allegedly attended a business meeting to finalize a deal to exchange property for marijuana at the home of Donald Cheatham on the 4000 block of Hildale Avenue in Oroville.
Neal arrived at the residence in Oroville on 03-26-2013 between 1100-1130 hours. They left the property together en route to an unknown location. King is thought to have been last seen in the Berry Creek area, about 20 miles northeast of Oroville. Cheatham said he last saw King when he dropped King off at Bald Rock Road and Oro-Quincy Highway. The girlfriend reportedly saw King's vehicle outside the Hildale residence, but King wasn't there. The vehicle was subsequently towed.
After several search warrants, Donald Cheatham, 36, and Jennifer Cheatham, 38, were arrested and face charges with possessing marijuana for sale and a firearms enhancement. Police found no evidence King had been in the residence and no sign of a violent confrontation. The Cheathams are the owners of Amazon Garden Supply, a nursery and garden supply store on Ridgeview Lane in Oroville.
Foul play is suspected-
