  • Details of Disappearance
Patricia Laemmerhirt was last seen in Westfield on April 3, 1976. Her husband reported her missing.

According to her brother, the couple were having marital problems at the time. She had stayed for a while at her mother's home in Dunkirk, but later returned to her husband and children in Westfield. On April 5, 1976 -- a Monday -- Laemmerhirt called, asking about his wife, who, he claimed, had left home the previous Friday. A few days later, Patricia's brother and a relative broke into the house when Laemmerhirt was away. They fond no sign that Patricia had ever lived there. Her drawers were all empty. Her clothes were gone. Since no clues surfaced and no body was found, police could do little.

Laemmerhirt reportedly has told police that he thinks his wife went to Chicago.

Patricia is a 1968 graduate of Dunkirk High School.
