  • Details of Disappearance
LaMar was last seen on the morning of March 16 when she was getting ready for school; she had a conversation with her mother, and her final communication came via text to a friend whom she was planning to meet at school that morning. Sierra never made that meeting. Sierra also did not board the school bus she takes everyday which picks her up at 07.35 hrs. Sierra was also absent from school all day, Friday 3/16/12.

Her cell phone was found a few miles away from her home.

Sierra has never been a run away before and has not had any recent events in her life that would indicate she wanted to leave voluntarily.

21-year-old Antolin Garcia-Torres was arrested in May on suspicion of kidnapping and murdering Sierra LaMar. Police say they found traces of Garcia-Torres' DNA on LaMar's clothing that was found on the side of the road a few days after she went missing. They also found traces of her DNA inside his car.
