Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Brenda was last seen by her family at approximately 9:00pm at her residence in the vicinity of Windmill Hill Road in Bluewell, WV. It was the evening of her son’s first birthday when she left her Bluewell home without taking her car and few, if any, personal items. Lambert was reported missing two days later by her husband, Raymond Lambert. Lambert had called the Princeton, West Virginia Police Department asking for information about how to drop a domestic violence petition 16 days before her disappearance.
Five and a half months later, her friend, 21-year-old Mark Anthony Cook, left Pedro’s Bar, then located at Airport Square off U.S. Route 52, and disappeared. Since that time, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department has been searching for both individuals. Authorities believe the cases may be connected.
There is a suspect in the disappearances; but there is not enough information to make an arrest. Foul play is suspected.
In 2003, police received a tip the bodies of Lambert and Cook could be found in a local pond. An attempt to drain the pond was unsuccessful, but the department brought in a diver and, later, specialized underwater video equipment to search the murky depths. No bodies or evidence were found.
