    • Details of Disappearance
    Lands, a billing clerk for a doctors' office, was last seen walking away from her residence in the vicinity of the 1200 block of Arms Street in Marshall, Michigan. She was 39 when her boyfriend, Christopher Pratt, told police she walked away from their house after a fight that evening. He didn't know where she was going. Lands had been drinking so Pratt wouldn't give her the keys to her new Dodge Durango. She left the SUV and her cell phone. When Lands hadn't returned two days later, the boyfriend thought she had gone to California to join her parents and brother, who had moved there a week earlier. He called the brother to say that Lands was missing. The brother then called the police. Christopher Pratt was convicted of assault in another case in 2007 and is serving a five- to 15-year sentence at St. Louis Correctional Facility in St. Louis, Mich.

    Despite extensive media coverage and intense police and K-9 searches, no trace of Mary has been found.

    In March & April 2006, private investigators searched some areas in the Marshall area, coming up with some hits by cadaver dogs. Foul play is suspected but no arrests have been made.

    Mary Lands was declared dead in 2011.
