Details of Disappearance
On Friday, March 13, 2009, Doug Lanterman left his job on Wall Street in New York City with the intent of catching a bus to Independence Township,
Warren County, NJ, to his parents' home, where he resides.
Somehow, he ended up on the wrong bus. Instead of boarding the bus that would take him to Panther Valley, NJ, close to home, he ended up on an
express bus, getting off at it's first stop at the Park-and-Ride in Marshalls Creek, PA. He had called his parents, asking them to pick him up in
Marshalls Creek, but instead of waiting for them there, he walked into East Stroudsburg.
There were several sightings of Doug in the East Stroudsburg area that night and through the day on Saturday, the 14th. His folks caught up to him on
Saturday at the Walmart in East Stroudsburg, but he wouldn't get into the car. At around 2am, Sunday, the 15th, he was seen at a homeless camp between
the railroad tracks and Broadhead Creek. A man living at the camp said that Doug left his wallet and a couple of shirts outside of the man's tent.
Doug has not been seen nor heard from since.
