Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Michael Jermaine Lawson, 32, has been missing since January 24, 2013.
He was last seen in the parking lot of Grocery Outlet on Brent Lane in Pensacola around 7:30 pm. The car Michael was driving was left running with the keys in the ignition.
Just before he left the house for the last time, someone called him and repeatedly asked him, “You coming? You coming?” according to Lawson’s relatives. Witnesses at the Grocery Outlet said they saw Lawson get out of his vehicle and enter a large Chevy sedan before he was whisked away.
Lawson had a history of arrests for drug charges, and recently had been released from prison in the months before he went missing. Escambia Sheriff’s investigators have said they believe his disappearance may have been drug related.
His family believes that he never would just abandon his daughters, nor stay gone intentionally without a word to his family. At the time he had started working a job at McDonald’s, and he was working for his mother at her cleaning company. Foul play is suspected.
