  • Details of Disappearance
    Loper was last seen at approximately 10:00 p.m. on May 29, 2002 in Lucedale, Mississippi. She was in the 200 block of Clarence Bonnett Road at the time of her disappearance. Mary was reported missing by her mother and sisters. She left behind three young sons.

    Searches have been conducted of her house and surrounding area, cadaver dogs have been used, a thermal imaging search has been performed and other methods employed.

    Loper's husband, Jonathan Carl Loper, was arrested on drug charges the day his wife was reported missing. According to investigators, Jonathan Loper refused to answer any questions concerning his wife and he has never been charged in her disappearance case.
