  • Details of Disappearance
Lynch is a resident of Newburgh, Indiana and was visiting Hawaii at the time of his disappearance. Timothy was last seen between 9:30 am and 9:45 am at the Volcanoes National Park at the end of Chain of Craters Road in Hawaii National Park, HI. Timothy's rental vehicle was later located abandoned at the end of Chain of Craters Road at the eruption site parking lot. Despite numerous searches, no sign of Lynch has been found.

In December 2004, Timothy's estranged wife asked the court to declare him legally dead. She was the person who reported him missing. She had checked his answering machine a few days after the disappearance using a code she knew from before the separation. On it were messages from the Royal Kona Resort asking when Lynch planned to check out and take care of his bill. He didn't use his June 6 return ticket.
