Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Heather Ann MacCrossen used her cell phone to call her mother in Michigan on August 17, 2007 and told her she was at the Gainesville bus station.
There is a history of domestic violence.
Shortly before her disappearance, MacCrossen's relatives said she fled to Michigan to escape her ex-boyfriend, Andrelo Larashard Witcher, and arrived with two black eyes and told family members she was terrified of Witcher. On July 23, 2007, Witcher threatened MacCrossen with a gun before punching her in the face and broke her eye socket. Witcher then kidnapped MacCrossen and held her hostage in a Lake City home for about two days before she escaped. While she was in Michigan he called her and threatened her and said if she didn't come back he was going to come there and murder her entire family.
MacCrossen reportedly returned to Florida to deal with a misdemeanor traffic ticket and was expected in court on August 25, 2007.
Heather did not appear for court appearance and hasn't been heard from or seen since. In December one of MacCrossen’s cousins filed a missing person’s report with the Sheriff’s Office. Witcher denies knowing where she is.
The search for MacCrossen has included a fruitless search for any activity on her Social Security number or credit cards. There has been no activity.
In April 2016 Andrelo Larashard Witcher was charged with manslaughter in Heather's case. He is also a person of interest in the disappearance of Kamrie Mitchell.
