  • Details of Disappearance
Travis Massey was last seen on November 30, 2000 in Huntsville, Alabama. He may be in the Birmingham, Alabama area.

He was last seen with murder suspect Alfred D. Hardy III in a red Ford truck traveling on I-565 near Memorial Parkway. Police later found the truck Massey was seen driving before he disappeared in Cullman. Massey had borrowed it from someone there, and returned it within a day or two of his disappearance. Hardy, 21, of 3903 Venus Circle, was arrested December 7, 2000 and charged with murder in the death of Derwin Tyrone Hawk, 36, of Fayetteville, Tenn. The shooting occurred in a suspected crack house at 2110 Medaris Road.

According to police, the last time anyone heard from Massey was on Dec. 1, when he supposedly called a friend. He said he was somewhere between Huntsville and Birmingham. Massey was never seen or heard from after that day. Massey's family and police fear he has been a victim of foul play.

Travis Massey had recently been laid off from his job at a tree-trimming company.
