Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Darla was last seen at approximately 2:30 a.m. October 2, when she left her place of employment, the Eddy County Detention Center, before the end of her scheduled shift. Apart from brief e-mail and telephone contact with her family later that day, she has not been heard from since. She reportedly told his cousin that she was sitting under a bush during a short phone call on the morning she went missing.
Her personal vehicle was located at her Carlsbad residence, although a mountain bike, described as blue or green in color, appeared to be missing. Also found were her keys, her purse and personal identification and bank card. A checkbook seems to be missing, although no financial activity has been detected on any of her accounts. McCormick's work uniform was found at her home, indicating she had changed clothes before leaving. The last two calls from her cell phone used a transmission tower in south Carlsbad near the Wal-Mart on South Canal Street.
She may have been upset about the recent end of a personal relationship with a coworker. She may be in danger.
