Details of Disappearance
Dawn left the Academy Apartments in Bellefonte, Pa in a brown, 1982 Datsun 210 Station Wagon. She was never heard from or seen again.
Miller had grown up in Williamsport but, after a squabble with her mother, left to live with her boyfriend at the Academy Apartments in Bellefonte. On October 24, 1992, she got into a truck with her boyfriend and his nephew and headed for Williamsport. That was the last time anyone saw her. The three may have been in the area of Howard or Jacksonville Road right before Miller disappeared. Dawn remained close with her siblings. So when they didn't hear from her for about a month, the family got worried.
Her boyfriend was interviewed in 2008 and he denied killing Dawn. Five months later he hanged himself in Scotia Range in Patton Township. The nephew took police to a wooded area near the Jacksonville quarry in Marion Township and said it was Dawn's grave. Despite countless hours of searching and digging in the Jacksonville Quarry area near Bellefonte, however, no body has been found.
