Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Dawn Mozino was last seen where she was employed at the Bryn Mawr Hospital. She worked as a hostess in the nutrition department.
She was supposed to take public transportation to the area where she resided, however she never arrived. She was last seen waiting to get on a bus to Strafford where her boyfriend lived. From there, she was supposed to go on a bus or train to the Upper Main Line YMCA on Berwyn-Paoli Road near Route 30 in Berwyn to practice for the Special Olympics.
Area storm sewers were searched, including the area around the K mart store on Lancaster Avenue, where she was formerly employed and was known to frequent. One report indicated she was spotted that night about 6 p.m. by store employees.
Though investigators had focused on a primary suspect already convicted of two murders, no charges were ever produced. Convicted killer Thomas W. Hawkins is believed by authorities to be the last person seen with Dawn. A hospital employee who had stopped at a traffic light positively identified Hawkins from a photo array as a person seen with Dawn at the bus stop at Lancaster and Bryn Mawr avenues in Lower Merion, Montgomery County. Foul play is suspected.
