  • Details of Disappearance
Dori Ann Myers was last seen with two men at the St. Lucie Inn bar in Fort Pierce. Dori was reportedly conned by the two men who told her they were Marines wounded in Iraq and were heading south. She made her last phone call at 9:30 p.m., and everything was fine. She told a family member that she had made a bed for one of them on her sofa and one for the other "Marine" on a fold out bed. At around 12:30 a.m., the neighbors heard arguing but didn't call the police; it finally subsided at 3:15 a.m. when the neighbors heard Dori's car doors slam and speed away.

It is believed that the "Marines" took Dori by force, then set her home on fire with her beloved pets inside. Her car was found 80 miles away at a Lake Okeechobee boat ramp in Glades County. It had been torched. Dori has not been seen or heard from since. Dentals and fingerprints are available.
