  • Details of Disappearance
    Nance was last seen in the late afternoon on June 20, 2001, walking away from a family member's residence in the vicinity of the 1200 block of Sunshine Street in Gastonia, North Carolina. She told her mother she was going to the store. Family believes she had not reason to flee from her home.

    A year after Nance disappeared, her mother heard that the Gastonia woman had been spotted in Atlanta, when she scoured the city seven times that summer. She found people who had seen Lillian even some who knew her nickname, Libby.
