Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Eleanor Parker was last seen at her parents Southdowns home in Baton Rouge. She picked up some winter clothes. After a brief visit, she tossed the clothes on the seat of her car and drove off in the direction of her apartment.
A former classmate claims to have seen her on 11/14/81 at Cortana Mall, said she spoke directly to Eleanor. Her car was found 11/18/81 at an apartment complex near Goudchaux's where she worked. Her clothes now were neatly folded in the trunk.
Parker was described as a "typical, preppy all-American college coed." Parker's mother described her as a kind and trusting girl. She worked as a clerk at Goudchaux's and had recently moved into an apartment with three other women. She planned to attend LSU in the spring.
Authorities interviewed hundreds of people and a $10,000 reward was offered for information to no avail.
