Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Ashley was last seen on June 12, 2005 in Urbandale, Michigan (near Battle Creek), walking away from her parents' home after a supposed argument. After her parents confronted her about a possible pregnancy, Ashley left to take a walk and never returned to the residence. Police received a tip that she may have gone to a nearby swamp in a suicidal state. A search of the swamp near Bedford and Morgan roads yielded no clues.
Ashley had little contact with her friends in the couple of months prior to her disappearance. Described as a homebody, she does not have a car nor a driver's license. She didnít have a cell phone or credit card and there has been no activity by anyone using her Social Security number. She was working at Taco Bell on Capital Avenue Northeast and saving money for a car. She walked out of the house that day with nearly $700 in cash. Investigators have received other information that she may have been camping near Houghton Lake after she was reported missing, but no one recalls seeing her there. In May 2007, law enforcement officers spent several hours combing through a woods on the south side of Battle Creek. The area searched included the woods at the west end of Riverside Parkway and bordered by Territorial Road on the north and Grand Boulevard on the west.
An ex-boyfriend and possible father of the child has not been ruled out as having any information on Ashley's whereabouts and the investigation is ongoing.
